Josie Lewis lives and works in Minneapolis. She received her MFA from the University of MN in 2007. Lewis is an adjunct instructor in art at several area colleges, as well as being a full time artist. The work is made with a combination of resin and found paper. The paper is extracted from Vogue and National Geographic magazines, sliced into narrow strips, and sandwiched between layers of viscous, glossy resin. The works evoke body systems, aerial topographies, and mosaic.
